Celebrating the Charis Worship Event with
Pastor Ji Myung-Hyun
From November 1 to 3, Pastor Ji Myung-Hyun of the renowned Korean worship team ‘Sorial’ held a series of worship gatherings across Colorado in collaboration with the Charis Worship Team. The three-day “Charis Worship” event united members from various Korean churches in Denver and Colorado Springs, featuring worship gatherings at different locations each day. On the first day, worship took place at Denver Hallelujah Church, followed by a gathering at Denver Youngnak Church on the second day. The series concluded on Sunday with a worship service at Colorado Springs Korean American Methodist Church.
Pastor Ji accepted the invitation from Shin Yang-Soo, the leader of the Charis Worship Team, whom he met during a worship concert in Korea last year. Eager to visit, Pastor Ji shared his joy at reconnecting with the Denver Korean community, where he felt a profound sense of warmth and unity.

A highlight of the event was Pastor Ji’s collaboration with the Charis Worship Team, an amateur worship group composed of members from various Korean churches in Denver. Though not professional musicians, the team members displayed a genuine love for worship and dedication to God, which left a lasting impact on both Pastor Ji and the attendees. Pastor Ji noted that Charis’s humility and commitment to worship reflect a truly professional spirit, pleasing to God and uplifting for all present.
Throughout the gathering, Pastor Ji emphasized that “for worship to thrive, praise must be alive within the church.” He encouraged attendees to experience unity and renewal through worship, which he sees as the foundation for a vibrant and restored church community. During the worship concerts, he performed well-loved Sorial songs like “Why Are You Sad?” and “Jacob’s Blessing,” as well as his new release, “The Lord Is My Shepherd.” This song, inspired by David’s repentance and faith, invited the congregation into a deep spiritual reflection and renewal.
As the gathering concluded, Pastor Ji urged the Denver Korean church community to embrace these worship events as essential opportunities for spiritual growth and connection. By coming together in worship, he believes the community can experience God’s grace in a transformative way. Both Pastor Ji and the Charis Worship Team expressed their hope that this event would spark a lasting revival of worship within Colorado’s Korean churches, fostering a spirit of praise, unity, and renewal in the community.
