On Saturday, March 15, the OKTA Denver Chapter successfully hosted a workshop for its members. The event aimed to enhance understanding of World OKTA (WOKTA) and provide diverse business opportunities. In particular, it served as an important platform for addressing members’ inquiries and facilitating the exchange of practical information.

OKTA Denver Chapter Shares 13 Years of Experience
The first speaker, Yoon Sung Choi, Honorary Chairman of the OKTA Denver Chapter, shared his experiences and insights accumulated over 13 years while serving as the chapter’s president and advisor. He introduced the history and major projects of World OKTA, explaining global expansion strategies and success stories utilizing its international network. Currently serving as the Vice Chairman of the World OKTA Ethics Committee, he also emphasized the importance of ethical and sustainable business operations.

Introduction to Global Marketing and the Branch Office Program
The second speaker, Soo Jung Park, CEO of Global Marketer, introduced OKTA’s branch office program. This initiative, run in collaboration with KOTRA and the Small and Medium Business Corporation, helps South Korean SMEs expand overseas. Currently active in 49 countries, the Denver Chapter officially launched this program in 2024 to assist Korean businesses in successfully entering the Colorado market.

Strong Member Engagement, Including Newcomers
Despite being held on a weekend, the workshop attracted about 20 enthusiastic members, demonstrating strong interest in OKTA’s initiatives. Notably, newly joined members participated actively, engaging in a Q&A session about World OKTA and the Denver Chapter’s key projects. This interaction strengthened member networks and helped newcomers integrate quickly into the organization.

Regular Meetings for Continuous Information Exchange
Starting this year, the Denver Chapter plans to hold monthly meetings, allowing members to share business experiences and discuss new ideas. This initiative will provide valuable opportunities not only for existing business owners but also for next-generation members interested in trade and distribution.

Given that Colorado has relatively limited experience in trade with South Korea, the need for regular networking opportunities has become more critical. Many members expressed the necessity of structured information exchange and the development of market entry strategies.

Future Goals and Plans of the Denver Chapter
Last year, the Denver Chapter successfully hosted the “1st Korean Excellent Product Exhibition”, and it plans to continue developing similar projects this year. Jun Kyung Choi, President of the Denver Chapter, emphasized that regular meetings will enhance information-sharing among members, elevate the chapter’s presence, and promote South Korean businesses in the Colorado market.

Expanding Collaboration with the Korean and Multicultural Communities
Looking ahead, the Denver Chapter plans to extend its collaboration beyond the Korean community to include local multicultural groups. Various events are being planned to promote Korean products and culture in the region. These initiatives will not only support South Korean businesses in entering the U.S. market but also strengthen ties between the Korean community and local stakeholders.

A Promising Future for the Denver Chapter
Following this workshop, the Denver Chapter aims to reflect members’ feedback and continue growing in a meaningful direction. As a crucial business hub connecting South Korea and the U.S., the chapter is expected to solidify its presence in the regional economy and the global market.
