On Sunday, January 26, 2025, On Havana Street in Aurora will host a grand Lunar New Year Festival at Stampede (2430 S. Havana St., Aurora, CO 80014). This event celebrates the Year of the Snake and promises a wide array of performances and cultural activities for the whole family to enjoy.
Chance Horiuchi, Executive Director of On Havana Street, expressed great anticipation for this event, emphasizing its significance in celebrating the diverse cultural identity of the community and fostering connections among residents. “Through this festival, we hope local residents and visitors will gain a renewed appreciation for the meaning of Lunar New Year while experiencing vibrant cultures and having an enjoyable time,” he stated.
This festival aims to establish itself as one of Aurora’s hallmark events, blending traditional performances with modern entertainment in a family-friendly atmosphere.
Main Stage Performances
The main stage will feature the following performances throughout the day:
12:30 PM: Japanese flute performance by Miki Saito
1:00 PM: Japanese Taiko drumming by Denver Taiko
2:15 PM: Hip-hop performance by Filipino artist Meta Sarmiento
3:00 PM: Dragon and lion dance by Guiding Mountain
4:00 PM: K-pop showcase led by Sean Choi
5:00 PM: K-pop dance and live performances by KonnectPop, David Park, and Jay
Outdoor Parking Lot Performances
Additional performances will take place in the outdoor parking lot:
1:45 PM: Japanese Taiko drumming by Denver Taiko
2:00 PM: Firecracker celebration
2:45 PM: Hip-hop performance by Meta Sarmiento
3:20 PM: Dragon and lion dance by Guiding Mountain

Cultural Experiences and Activities
Visitors can enjoy a variety of cultural experiences, including traditional Korean hanbok try-ons and photo opportunities, Korean calligraphy demonstrations, taekwondo martial arts demos, and kids’ craft activities. DJs Innaseoul and Done will provide music throughout the day to keep the festival lively and energetic.
Special Lunar New Year-themed beverages crafted by Sean Choi of 3456 Tea will also be available. Other activities include face painting, balloon art, henna tattoos, and more, ensuring fun for the entire family.
Call for Volunteers
To ensure the success of this exciting event, the festival is seeking enthusiastic volunteers! Participants can assist with event setup, lead kids’ activities, serve food, handle social media coverage, and more.
