Colorado Korean Bowling League Records Second Perfect Game
One-in-11,500 odds: Andrew Ryan achieves bowling’s holy grail
History was made at the Colorado Korean Bowling Association on Sunday, July 20th, when league member Andrew Ryan rolled a perfect 300 game – only the second perfect game in the league’s history.
A perfect game requires 12 consecutive strikes and represents the pinnacle of bowling achievement. For recreational bowlers, the odds of rolling a 300 are roughly 1 in 11,500 games. Even regular league bowlers only achieve perfection about once every 460 games, while professional bowlers manage it approximately once every 300 games.
While modern bowling technology – including advanced ball designs, improved lane conditions, and precision pin-setting equipment – has increased the frequency of perfect games compared to decades past, a 300 game remains an extraordinarily rare accomplishment that most bowlers never achieve in their lifetime.
Andrew Ryan first learned to bowl in high school 20 years ago but hadn’t played regularly due to work commitments. He recently joined the Colorado Korean Bowling League after being invited by a friend, leading to this milestone achievement. Ryan currently carries a 41 handicap, showing steady improvement in his game.
When Ryan achieved his perfect game, Bowlero Heather Ridge announced the accomplishment to all patrons in the facility. The bowling center presented Ryan with a commemorative pin, and fellow league members signed it with congratulatory messages. The blue commemorative pin features “Andrew 7/20/25” along with warm wishes from his teammates.
This marks only the second perfect game in the Colorado Korean Bowling Association’s history. The previous 300 game was rolled on December 8, 2022, by Eddie Jung (35, Aurora), who had been bowling for two years at the time.
“A 300 game is something even professional bowlers struggle to achieve regularly,” said Bae Jung-sam, President of the Colorado Korean Bowling Association. “To witness such a historic moment in our league is truly special.”
Fall Season New Member Registration Open
While the current spring-summer bowling season concludes in two weeks, the fall season is approaching and new members are welcome to join.
The Colorado Korean Bowling League meets every Sunday from 6:00-9:00 PM at Bowlero Heather Ridge (2200 S Peoria St, Aurora, CO 80014). The weekly fee is $30 for three games, and teams consist of three players each.
The league welcomes bowlers of all skill levels, from beginners to advanced players, with active participation from members in their 20s through 60s. Families, couples, and singles are all encouraged to join.
Prize money is awarded to top finishers, adding a competitive element to the fun.

Rolling a 300 game has roughly 0.009% probability for amateur bowlers – making it rarer than many lottery jackpots. In bowling circles, it’s truly considered a once-in-a-lifetime achievement.
