하나님의 사람(Man of God)
2008년 이태의 남부 Lecce 시에서 미켈란젤로 출생 500주년을 기념하는 대 축제 행사에서 안승윤 화백이 출품한 초상화 작품 “하나님의 사람(Man of God)”이 수많은 나라 화가들의 작품들 중에서 영예의 대상 작품으로 선정되어 미켈란젤로 상을 받게되었다. 트로피를 받는 시상식에서 우리 이태리 사람들이 인물화의 원조라고 자부하고 있는데, 어떻게 조그만한 나라 한국 출신인 당신이 이런 뛰어난 그림을 그릴수 있었느냐고 질문을 받았을 때 안 화백은 이 모든 것은 교육받은 결과이기 때문이라고 대답하여 사람들에게 감동을 주었다.
Title and Trophy: Man of God
In 2008, during a grand festival commemorating the 500th anniversary of Michelangelo’s birth in Lecce, southern Italy, renowned Korean artist Harry Ahn presented his portrait painting titled “Man of God.” Among the numerous artworks by painters from various countries, his piece was selected as the honored masterpiece and received the Michelangelo Trophy. During the award ceremony, where he received the trophy, the Italian people proudly claimed to be the originators of portraiture and questioned how someone from a small country like Korea could create such an exceptional painting. In response, Ahn, the artist, moved the audience by stating that it was all due to the result of his education.
*미켈란젤로 디 로도비코 부오나로티 시모니(이탈리아어: Michelangelo di Lodovico Buonarroti Simoni, 1475년 ~ 1564년)는 이탈리아의 조각가, 화가, 건축가, 시인이다. 르네상스 시기를 대표하는 거장으로, 피렌체, 로마 등 이탈리아 여러 지역에 거주하면서 수많은 걸작을 남긴 위대한 예술가로 손꼽힌다. 그의 작품은 인생의 고뇌, 사회의 부정과 대결한 분노, 신앙을 미적으로 잘 조화시킨 것으로 평가된다.
